Do it yourself! Knowledge has to be open! This is the credo of French-Japanese artist-activist Cesar Harada who is building with his team a sailing robot that is designed to clean up and monitor the oceans. E.g. oils spills or measure radioactivity in the oceans. Cesar has crowd-funded 30.000 Dollars for his ecologically driven project and rented a workshop in the port of Rotterdam for seven months. He put the project under the recently established Open Source Hardware License and published all the research and construction plans on the internet so everybody is free to use, modify and distribute this sailing drone for free. Together with a team of six young engineers Cesar is working on this challenging task. Will they be able to meet the high requirements of the project?
